Passports
The Kenya Government has implemented a new e-Passport system, for issuance of
new generation passports in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO) standards. The passport printing will be centrally done in Nairobi. Passport
applicants are required to submit their applications online on the e-Citizen
platform ( https://www.ecitizen.go.ke/ )
All Kenyans in Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary and Ukraine are advised to
apply for their e-passports online on www.ecitizen.go.ke and make an appointment
with the following Kenyan Embassy’s to make an appointment and submit your duly
filled applications forms.
General Instructions
One must create an account on the e-citizen portal to access the passport
application service
ALL Passport applications MUST be duly completed online via ecitizen.go.ke portal. Manual applications will NOT be accepted.
Please ensure you have read and understood the guidelines and Requirements before submitting your application.
ALL passport applications must be recommended by a Kenyan Citizen in possession of a Valid Passport/National Identity Card and who is not a relative on ( section 7 ) of the application form.
All applicants are advised to apply for a passport replacement at least six months before its expiry date.
Dual Citizens are required to declare their other nationality prior to renewing Kenya passports. These include persons born before 27th August 1987 and for those who acquired other citizenship status before 27th August 2010 need to show proof of having regained Kenya citizenship.
Those required to apply to regain Kenya citizenship are expected to await completion of the regaining process before they can apply for their e-passports.

Requirements
- Duly completed e-citizen pre-filled passport application form. (Printed)
- Copy of e-citizen payment Invoice.
- Original passport (expired/filled up)
- Original National Identity Card (new generation) and one copy (front and back).
- coloured current passport size photos. (see notes on photos above)
- Copy of Kenyan passport biodata page only
- All passport applications must be recommended by a Kenyan Citizen in possession of a Valid Passport/National Identity Card and who is not a relative on ( section 7 ) of the application form and copy of document attached.
NOTE: THE RECOMMENDER MUST SIGN ON THE APPLICATION FORM. - Book appointment and applicant MUST appear in person.
Requirements
- Duly completed e-citizen pre-filled passport application form. (Printed)
- 2 copies of e-citizen payment Invoice.
- A detailed self-explanatory letter about the circumstances of the loss
- Declaration for lost/damaged passport form
- Police abstract (additionally translated to English)
- A notarised affidavit detailing the circumstances under which the loss occurred
- Original National ID Card (new generation) and one copy (front and back).
- Copy of lost passport biodata page if available.
- 4 coloured current passport size photos.
- All passport applications must be recommended by a Kenyan Citizen in possession of a Valid Passport/National Identity Card and who is not a relative on (section 7) of the application form and copy of document attached.
- Book appointment and applicant MUST appear in person.
- Applicant will be contacted once passport is finalized to arrange for collection of
passport via courier

- The mutilated/damaged passport
- 4 coloured current passport size photos. (see notes on photos above)
- Original National ID Card (new generation) and one copy (front and back).
- Letter explaining how, where and when the passport got damaged.
All passport applications must be recommended by a Kenyan Citizen in possession of a Valid Passport/National Identity Card and who is not a relative on ( section 7 ) of the application form and copy of document attached.

- Parental consent form duly completed
- 4 coloured current passport size photos.
- Photocopy of the Father’s and Mother’s IDs/Passports’ biodata page
- Original foreign birth certificate indicating the names of father and mother
(International certificate with English options or translate the certificate) - All passport applications must be recommended by a Kenyan citizen in possession of a Valid Passport/National Identity Card and who is not a relative on ( section 7 ) of the application form and copy of document attached.
